Private Lessons

I have had the privilege of mentoring numerous young musicians, many of whom have achieved remarkable milestones. Students have been featured in Complex for their musical productions, while others have earned admission to prestigious and competitive institutions such as Mark Twain Middle School, The Creative Music School and Fiorello LaGuardia High School as well as being admitted to the competitive Lincoln Center Jazz Program as well as Performing with the New York Pops in Carnegie hall with Kids on Stage.  My teaching approach is dedicated to nurturing both technical skill and artistic expression, helping each student realize their unique musical potential.

Electronic Music

In 2013, I was hired to teach alongside renowned electronic musicians and DJs who had toured and collaborated with iconic artists such as EPMD, Lil Wayne, and The Notorious B.I.G., among others. In my role as Program Director, I was responsible for bridging the gap between contemporary turntablism techniques and traditional music pedagogy. This involved developing innovative curricula that connected the technical skills of DJing with foundational musical concepts, fostering a comprehensive learning experience for students. Through this work, I aimed to elevate turntablism as both an art form and an academic discipline.

Group Percussion

While maintaining a dedicated private studio for students in Brooklyn over a decade, I have concurrently held a variety of group educator positions. My responsibilities have ranged from organizing summer camps to directing ensembles and facilitating group drum instruction. This dual focus has allowed me to cultivate expertise in both individualized and collaborative learning environments.

My professional experience encompasses roles such as Ensemble Director, Amy Winehouse Teen Jazz Program Coordinator, Electronic Music Group Educator, and Group Percussion Instructor.

In addition, I lead group ensembles consisting of young musicians on multiple instruments, specializing in jazz, rock, fusion, etc. These ensembles provide a structured setting in which students develop technical proficiency, ensemble awareness, and improvisational skills within the complex and evolving framework of music.
